..... komme aus Kiel und habe mir auf der Ostsee so manches Mal den Wind um die Nase wehen lassen. Ich stamme nämlich aus einer Segler Familie, insofern habe ich früh den Umgang mit dem Wasser gelernt. Ich bin sturmerprobt und weiß auch, wie man eine Flaute überlistet und vorwärts kommt.
Getreu der Erkenntnis, es gibt niemanden, der zu viel weiß ... habe ich anfangs gelernt, mit Materialien umzugehen. Ich bin gelernte Kürschnerin und das bedeutet, dass ich nicht nur weiß, wie man Pelze behandelt, sondern auch Textil und Leder. Damit nicht genug – es folgte eine weitere Ausbildung und zwar im Hotel- und Restaurantfach. Ein paar Jahre führte ich ein eigenes Hotel und ein Restaurant.
.... I come from Kiel and therefore used to strong Baltic Sea winds blowing in my face. I come from a family of sailors and have learned to handle the sea at an early age. I am storm-tested and know how to overcome lulls and be able to move forward.
Thought this knowledge I learned from the beginning how to handle materials. I am a trained furrier which means that not only do I know how to treat furs, but also textiles and leathers. Additionally I undertook an additional vocational training in the hotel and restaurant business. For some years I had my own hotel and restaurant.

Wie so oft im Leben, gibt es irgendwann einen Positionswechsel, meiner war 2008, als ich mich entschied, meinem heutigen Lebenspartner, Rainer Niessner, in den Yachtbereich in dessen Büro PLOT zu folgen.
Warum, weil ich bei PLOT mein Wissen und meine Erfahrung aus den abgeschlossenen Ausbildungen einbringen konnte.
Bis 2014 war ich dann in die PLOT Großyacht Projekte involviert, bei den Howaldtswerken Deutsche Werft in Kiel, bei Blohm & Voss in Hamburg und bei Royal Huisman Shipyard in den Niederlanden. Dabei hatte ich Kontakt mit den führenden Yachtentwicklern und den Exterior und Interior Designern und arbeitete mit ihnen zusammen.
As is often in life there eventually came a change of my position. It was 2008 when I decided to join my current life partner, Rainer Niessner, and become active in the yacht scene in his office PLOT.
You may ask why? Because the time at PLOT ables me to use my knowledge and my experience from my earlier completed trainings to the full.
Until 2014 I was involved in Megayacht projects of PLOT office at Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft in Kiel, Blohm & Voss in Hamburg and Royal Huisman Shipyard in the Netherlands. During this time I had contact with leading yacht developers, working with both exterior and interior designers in these areas.

Wir planten Abläufe des Yachtbetriebes, simulierten Prozesse, die den Eignern und den Crews wichtig waren. Und selbstverständlich stimmten wir uns mit den internationalen Designern ab. Wenn Interior und Exterior
aufeinander treffen geht es nicht nur um optische Wirkungen, von besonderer Bedeutung sind praktische Lösungen. Wir haben beides geschaffen – das Auge sollte sich freuen und die Nutzung sollte sinnvoll sein, eine unerlässliche Kombination!

Years that shape me.
We planned and organised processes for the operation of yachts and simulated procedures that were important for the owners and crews. We similary coordinated these subjects with the international designers. Where there were interior and exterior interfaces, it was both the design and visual features, together with practical solutions, which required spezial input to reach the optimal result.

Bei all den großen Dingen darf man nie die kleineren Projekte vergessen. Deshalb möchte ich hier erwähnen, dass ich mit großem Engagement an einem Konzept für ein Hamburger Restaurantschiff an der Binnenalster gearbeitet habe.
Als das Projekt beendet war, waren nicht nur die Eigentümer sondern auch die Behörden zufrieden, denn wir hatten all deren Ansprüche umgesetzt.
We always bare in mind that it’s not just the large projects that require spezial attention but also the smaller ones. That is why I want to mention here, that I worked with great enthusiasm on a concept for a Hamburg restaurant ship for the inner Alster. When the project was completed, not only were the owners satisfied with the results but also the authorities because we had fulfilled all their requirements.

Mittlerweile dirigiere ich mein eigenes Netzwerk. Es besteht aus Architekten, Designern, Ingenieuren sowie Handwerkern. Wir alle arbeiten täglich daran, um die notwendige und hochwertige Nische beim Bau von Yachten zu bedienen. Die Themen Wirtschaftlichkeit und Effizienz sowie Umwelt und Nachhaltigkeit stehen dabei zu Recht zur Zufriedenheit unserer Auftraggeber im Vordergrund.
Neben diesen kreativen, planerischen und handwerklichen Tätigkeiten organisiere ich Büro-, Werkstatt Round Table Gespräche und Veranstaltungen zum Thema Yacht.
In the meantime I coordinate my own network consisting of architects, designers, engineers as well as craftsmen. We work daily to serve the requirements and high-quality niche in the construction of yachts. The topics of economy and efficiency as well as environmental and sustainability aspects are rightly in the foreground in enabling us to satisfy the requirements of our clients.
In addition to these creative, planning and craft activities, I organise office workshop round table meetings and events on the subject of yachting.

Eines möchte ich Ihnen zum Schluss noch sagen, ich liebe den Umgang mit den Menschen dieser kleinen internationalen Yacht Familie und genau deshalb arbeite ich mit Freude und Stolz an all den Projekten, für die mein Herz schlägt ...
... eben not just yacht support!
